Steph Teh is a Chinese-Malaysian musician based in Kaurna Yerta. A multi-instrumentalist skilled in cello, guitar, piano, and voice, she creates music that resonates deeply with the heart and spirit. Playing cello since the age of 5, Steph performs both as a solo artist and a multi-disciplinary collaborator, and is currently the Principal Cellist of the Burnside Symphony Orchestra.
A 2024 Nexus Arts Interplay Artist and participant in the 2023 and 2024 CAAP x Artist Lab at OzAsia, she is passionate about collaborating across disciplines and pushing genre boundaries to expand her creativity and craft. Through her music, Steph fosters connection and allows listeners to step away from life’s chaos and find space for reflection and emotional resonance.
Michael Tong is a registered physiotherapist who sees dancing as his second career. Since 2011, Michael has been focusing mainly on modern and contemporary, and has danced in works of various artists and choreographers - namely Pewan Chow, Flora Hon and Giselle Liu. He also performed in the Hong Kong Arts Festival 2019 ('elephant in the room' by Chang Xiaoni) and International Choreography Festival 2019 ('Falling like the apple' by Peishan Chiew).
Inspired by various dance styles, Michael is passionate about choreography and has presented group and solo work on different platforms. He launched his first full length piece through REAL showcase in 2014 and a short piece through Antenna in 2019 and Imagination Boom 4 in 2018 respectively by E-side Dance Company.
Shani Engelbrecht is a multidisciplinary artist who was born to a German-Australian father and raised by a mother with Fijian-Indian heritage. Her work explores her experience growing up in Australia and the feeling of being caught between two cultures. Race and identity are at the core of Engelbrecht’s practice as she interrogates the incidences of racism experienced by people of colour daily
Celine first played the piano when she was four and fell in love with it. Since she was nine, she has travelled to more than 8 countries competing in international competitions and performing in prestigious concert halls including Italy, Prague, South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, China and Taiwan.
She holds a Fellowship in Piano Performance at Trinity College London and has performed in musicals and weddings locally and internationally. She finds joy in returning to the piano amidst her busy life as a general practitioner in Adelaide.
Black nor White proudly contributes cultural diversity and ethinicity in Performing Arts industry in South Australia.
